Hey guys, welcome back to this Smarter, Not Harder. We're going to be talking today about two of my favorite life hacks, or I'm going to Gene Hackman into you a better place. I've got some toilet humor, I've got some garbage jokes, but stay with me. The jokes stink, but the advice is going great. I'm James Loewen. Let's get going. This is Smarter, not Harder.

All right, guys. Let me talk to you about my pal, John. He's helped me in my financial literacy and success for years. As my delayed, but very good looking friend was showing you, no job is done until the paperwork's over. It might sound like a stinky reference, but trust me, don't flush this advice down the drain. Jokes aside. Here's the three things I want you to do guys.

When you're on there, I want you to take a look at your bank account to make sure there's not been any erroneous payments being taken out or that you're not an overdraft. Second, I want you to check your Visa card. Make sure there wasn't any phishing or scams or erroneous charges onto that one. Of course, making sure you're making your minimum payment, if not a full payment. The last one I want you to take a look is when's your next mortgage payment? Is there sufficient funds and can we maybe increase to do a prepayment? Even five or 10% increase will bring down your mortgage, right up to three to five years. That's what friend John's advice. I'm sure if you're following that, you'll be a happy camera.

All right. My second life pack, ah, honestly, it's garbage. Literally, it's going to be about your garbage. I know what you're thinking. Why do I need help with my garbage? What if I could help you and sign you up or something, that would either text, share a calendar, or even call you to remind you what's your garbage day and which ones do you need to bring out? Is it recycling garbage, large waste, or anything like that? Believe it or not in Halton, you can actually sign up for that directly on their website. Now, you can look for it every time you need to, or you can literally have it set up. So the night before or the morning of, you can have them call, text, and send you an email. Garbage advice. Yeah, but it's pretty awesome, isn't it? I'm James Loewen. Now your garbage is going. This is Smarter, Not Harder.
